King Spur Stables combines three generations of hands-on horse training know-how with the latest scientific understanding of horse physiology and psychology. Each horse and rider are treated as individuals, with unique strengths and challenges. Instead of making you fit the mold of some "horse training guru," we get to know you, your horse, your goals, and your dreams.

If this philosophy of ridng and training appeals to you, King Spur is the perfect place to board and work with your horse. We have an indoor warm up and groundwork arena, new box and foaling stalls, an outdoor training arena, heated indoor tack room and rest room, easy access on good roads, and ample parking. We also have many miles of beautiful trails with a varied topography that includes secluded forest paths and specatacular views of the mountains. All this, plus an active network of horse enthusiasts, and programs and activities for children, families, and individuals.

My family has trained horses for over 100 years, and if we've learned anything at all, it's that you don't develop confidence on horseback - or win ribbons at shows - unless you really build a strong partnership with your horse. That's the King Spur Tradition - teaching the mind, body, and spirit of both horse and rider, for a lifetime of equine companionship and excellence in horsemanship.
